Surface Finishes

Carbon steels and alloy steels have excellent mechanical characteristics but a strong tendency to react with atmospheric elements, especially with oxides and salts present in the air.

Without proper protection, any product made from these materials is destined to undergo chemical aggression, becoming covered with a layer of rust in a short period of time.

This phenomenon, as it grows over time, leads to the total corrosion of the product and the complete loss of functionality.

FM Metal Fasteners Group S.p.A can provide a wide range of surface protective coatings compliant with RoHS3 (EU Directive 2015/863) including:

Zinc and zinc-nickel galvanic coatings in accordance with ISO 4042 – ISO 2081 standards and the most important automotive regulations.

GEOMET® – DELTAPROTEKT® zinc lamellar coatings in accordance with ISO 10683 and the most important automotive regulations and specifications.

Hot-dip zinc coatings in accordance with ISO 10684 – ASTM A153 – ISO 1461 standards.
